Check out these costume ideas from the 1880's. If I had one of those I'd definately be dressing up for halloween!
Here is Cady sporting a beautiful wrapped afternoon gown. The hat makes a third appearance, indicating again that I really need to draw more accessories for her! Perhaps I will attempt that today as I watch the last of Doctor Who season 4 ;)
I went to the dog park yesterday with Chiva and Kaya. All the leaves are starting to change so the hillside was glorious in it's fiery colors! I collected a few and placed them in a book to press. I'll use them down the road for scrapbooking or decorating. This is one of my favorite parts of the year. The colors change, the weather gets colder, and you can dig out all the lovely browns and grays in your closet and not feel like a damper on the summer spirit!
Below you'll find the cover for chapter two of Edwina's saga. As you might be able to tell from the scene, changes are in store for Miss Edwina, MacArthur, and Percival. I began the story as an excersize in art and, voila! my imagination ran away with it!
Here comes the beginning of another weekend away from home. You must think that I spend no time in my house at all, flitting from work during the week to all sorts of other placeso n the weekends! This time it's for a family reunion, then we should be home to stay until Thanksgiving. It's a lovely sort of day outside here, I don't know about y'all but I love a cloudy day. It makes me want to curl up in a blanket, by a window seat or in front of a crackling fire, and read all afternoon and evening. Unfortunately, I rarely get to do that, but it's such a nice thought.
Lately I've been trying to memorize bible passages and it's been such an encouragement to me. During slow spells at work I'm able to repeat them in my mind and remember the promises God has made to us and teh commands He has given. Right now I'm working on memorizing Psalm 139. "Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me..." I'd encourage you to read it if you're not familiar with it.
Well, I was going to put up a paper doll but Weebly is being very difficult, so I'll save that for later!
